Adriana Barba Sanchez, DVM

Dr. Adriana Barba is an internationally trained veterinarian bringing extensive clinical, surgical, and research experience to Wilmington Animal Hospital. A graduate of the University San Francisco de Quito, she has trained across multiple countries—including the United States, France, Chile, Colombia, and South Africa—through competitive internships and externships at renowned institutions such as UC Davis, the University of Lyon, Virginia Tech, and Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center.

Dr. Barba also completed a prestigious fellowship in translational research and medical device development at the University of Pennsylvania’s Preclinical Service Core and Comparative Orthopedic Research Laboratory, where she contributed to numerous scientific publications and conference presentations in orthopedic and biomedical research. Her work includes peer-reviewed articles, grant-funded research, and collaborations with multidisciplinary teams at top U.S. academic centers.
